- Music Videos (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.):
- Yes! You can create music videos.
- Limits: MP3 Lease (1 video), WAV Lease (2 videos), Trackouts Lease (3 videos), Unlimited & Exclusive (Unlimited videos).
- YouTube Monetization & Content ID:
- Can I monetize? Yes!
- Content ID Claims: My beats might be registered in YouTube’s Content ID system to prevent unauthorized use. If you get a claim on your video and you have the appropriate license, this is normal and won’t harm your channel.
- How to Clear Claims: Simply email me at
[email protected](or use the contact form) with proof of your license purchase and the link to your video. I will clear the claim promptly (usually 24-48 hours) so you can monetize. - IMPORTANT: Do NOT register your song in Content ID yourself through your distributor. This violates the license agreement and causes issues for others.

- Radio & TV Airplay:
- Radio: Allowed based on license limits: WAV (2 stations), Trackouts (3 stations), Unlimited/Exclusive (Unlimited stations).
- TV: Requires an exclusive license.
- PRO Registration (ASCAP, BMI, etc.):
- Allowed only with Exclusive licenses.
- Split: If you register, you must credit Luke Mounthill as composer/producer.

- Yes, you can often download a tagged MP3 version directly from the beat store player using the ‘Free Download’ button (if available for that beat).
- What can I use the free tagged download for?
- These free downloads are strictly for non-profit, non-commercial use only. Think of them as demos for writing, practice, or auditioning the beat privately.
- What CAN’T I do with the free tagged download?
- You cannot upload songs made with the free tagged version to Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube (for monetization), SoundCloud, or any other public platform.
- You cannot use them for paid performances or radio play.
- The voice tag (“Luke Mounthill Beats”) cannot be removed.

What file formats do I get?
It depends on your lease: MP3 Lease gets MP3. WAV Lease gets MP3 & WAV. Trackouts, Unlimited, and Exclusive get MP3, WAV, and the individual Trackout Stems (WAVs).
Are the beats mixed and mastered?
They are professionally pre-mixed for a great sound. They are delivered unmastered (or lightly limited) to allow proper mastering once your vocals are added.
License Upgrades & Other Policies
Can I upgrade my license later?
Yes, you can upgrade from a lower non-exclusive lease to a higher one (e.g., MP3 to Unlimited) anytime, as long as the Exclusive Rights haven’t been sold for that beat. You’ll just pay the difference in price. Contact me to arrange an upgrade.
What happens if someone buys the Exclusive Rights after I leased a beat?
Your non-exclusive lease remains fully valid according to its original terms until its usage limits are reached (if applicable). The exclusive sale only stops future licenses from being sold.
Can I resell the beat I purchased?
No. The license grants you rights to use the beat in your own music, not to resell the instrumental itself or transfer the license.
Giving Credit
How do I credit the producer?
Proper credit is required for all licenses. Please include “Prod. by Luke Mounthill” or “Beat by Luke Mounthill” in the title or description of your song/video when uploading online.
